On Saturday, 01 August 2009, SOB IX was launched from Garrett Coliseum, Montgomery, AL, at 1129 UTC (0629 CDT). The last signal was received at approximately 1350 UTC while SOB IX was at an altitude in excess of 122,000 feet.
